Welcome to the Channel 4 Education Consultation Web Site

16 August, 2006Steve Moore
Over the next six months Channel 4 wishes to consult with a broad range of teachers, practitioners and stakeholders from around the UK about the future of its education content. In these conversations - online and at occasional meetings at our headquarters in London - we want to explore with you and your peers.
  • what kinds of programmes and online content we should be commissioning for the next three years
  • how it should be delivered in ways that work for you
  • how we create content that reflects the changing nature of the world around us and the world inside the classroom
We're aware that education is awash with policy-invention, technological innovation and pedagogic re-invention. There are loads of good (and not so good) resources available. But what would students and teachers really like from Channel 4? What would be really engaging, inspiring and useful? In what areas are there yawning gaps? And how would you like to access what we can offer? Online, on DVD, on mobile or handheld, or on TV? This website provides you with an opportunity to connect with others invited to the consultation at Channel 4 on 5 October and to share your insights and ideas in advance or and after the event.
